Relieve Back Pain in 5 Minutes

Exercise for back pain. PIR technique

Today I will talk about the technique of post-isometric muscle relaxation (PIR). This is a method that helps to relax and increase the flexibility of the spinal muscles, relieve back pain. The essence of the method is to load the muscle without movement. That is, just tense it for a short time, then relax the muscle and let it stretch. It helps relieve tension and eliminate soreness in muscles and joints.

To do post-isometric muscle relaxation, you need to select a group of muscles that you are going to relax, for example, dorsal. And then load them for a few seconds without moving. After that, relax your muscles and let them stretch, feeling your body go into deep relaxation. This method is well suited for the treatment of hernias between the vertebrae and sciatica, which often cause back pain.

One of the main reasons why post-isometric muscle relaxation works so well is that it improves circulation and nutrition to the muscles, which helps them recover and relax. In addition, this method helps to prevent muscle imbalances, which can lead to painful and traumatic consequences.

Benefits: Muscle tension is relieved, peripheral nerve endings improve, joint function is restored, pain decreases or disappears, clamps are removed, the available range of motion increases, tendon flexibility develops, spasms disappear.

Contraindications: Thrombosis, disruption of the heart and vascular system, arrhythmia, ischemia, increased risk of heart attack, atherosclerosis.

Do all exercises in your comfort zone. If you have acute pain, then there is no need to do this
